Forum Romanum is a rectangular plaza surrounded by ruins of many great ancient government buildings at the center of Rome. Since here was the political and business center of olden Rome, much history clings to the worn paths. Citizens gathered here for speeches—they might meet senators or such well-known personages as Julius Caesar and Cicero.
