Overview

Explore the Colosseum, Roman Forum and Palatine Hill

Step back in time on this walking tour of Rome's most iconic archaeological sites. Your expert guide, a licensed archaeologist, historian or art historian, brings ancient Rome to life as you explore the Colosseum, the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill over approximately three hours.

Inside the Colosseum with Skip-the-Line Access

Begin your journey at the Colosseum, the largest amphitheatre ever built. With skip-the-line entrance, you avoid the long queues and head straight inside. Walk through the ground floor, explore the corridor between the second and third levels, and take in magnificent panoramic views from multiple vantage points overlooking the arena and its underground structures.

Palatine Hill: Where Rome Was Born

Continue to Palatine Hill, the legendary birthplace of Rome. According to myth, this is where Romulus and Remus were abandoned and raised by a she-wolf. Wander through the remains of the Imperial Palace and enjoy sweeping views over the Roman Forum below and the Circus Maximus in the distance.

The Roman Forum: Heart of Ancient Civic Life

Your tour concludes in the Roman Forum, once the centre of political, social and religious life in ancient Rome. Stand at the spot where Julius Caesar was cremated, see the platform where Mark Antony delivered his famous eulogy, and walk the Sacra Via past the Temple of Antoninus and Faustina, the Basilica Iulia, the Curia Iulia and the Arch of Septimius Severus.
